Cantabile was founded in 2001 and chose its name in recognition of the great influence of the Western Art tradition in women’s choral music.
The purpose of Cantabile is to advance the understanding and appreciation of women's choral music through learning and performing a repertoire of women's choral literature across musical periods. Cantabile's commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement is reflected in its carefully curated concerts. The chorus, known for its blend of vocal prowess and musical expertise, consistently delivers inspiring performances that celebrate the rich tapestry of choral music written for Soprano and Alto voices. The 2024-25 Singers: The Cantabile Women (a.k.a. "CantabiLadies") are auditioned singers, selected for their vocal quality, range, and blend. A multi-generational group, during the 2015 season, our members' ages spanned seven decades!
