Cantabile ~ Music for Women's Voices

Founded in 2001, Cantabile is an auditioned chorus of 24 voices from Vermont and New Hampshire that performs a repertoire of women’s choral literature across musical periods. Our name, Cantabile, is a musical term meaning “marked by a smooth, lyrical, flowing style.”  To find more about us, click HERE

(July 2020) Dear Friends of Cantabile,
Cantabile extends its heartfelt best wishes and support to you as we all negotiate these very difficult times in the safest way possible.
Sadly, Cantabile, as all other cultural organizations, has had to cancel its current season. We had planned a program to celebrate the strong spirit of women during times of struggle. It is with this spirit as inspiration that we will rise up, stronger than ever, to perform for you in the future, as soon as safety allows.
The year of 2021 marks Cantabile's 20th anniversary. We have exciting plans to celebrate this anniversary. We have commissioned Philip Silvey, professor of music at Eastman School of Music, to compose a piece for treble voices. Mr. Silvey's music will capture the joyful, resilient spirit of Cantabile as it celebrates women in the choral tradition. Both director Kathy Sherlock-Green, and accompanist Jeanne Chambers will lead us in our celebration.
In order to express our appreciation for your continued support, and to bring you some pleasure and solace during these difficult times, we are making a recording of our January concert "Words of Wisdom" available here on our website. Please enjoy! We hope to be back singing together and performing for you as soon as possible. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely Yours,
The Members of Cantabile
